Add, assign, and delete space categories

As a Jira administrator, you can create space categories so your team can view work across related spaces in one place. Your team can use categories in advanced search, filters, reports, and more. Note that space categories cannot be used to create space hierarchies (such as parent spaces).

How to create a space category

1. Select Settings (), then Spaces.

2. Select Space categories. 

3. Below the list of existing space categories, enter a name and description. 

4. Select Add.

How to assign a space category

1. Next to the name of your space in the sidebar, select More actions (•••), then Space settings.

2. From the sidebar, select Details.

3. Select a space category and Save details. 

How to delete a space category

1. Select Settings (), then Spaces.

2. Select Space categories.

3. Select the category you want to delete and select Delete.
