Configure a space
Configure a project and learn about different space settings.
Once you have created a space, you can configure it to suit the needs of your team or to adapt to a new piece of work. Your team can use Jira spaces to coordinate the development of a product, track a space, manage a help desk, and more.
For all of the following procedures, you must be logged in as a user with the Administer Jira global permission. A Jira admin is able to create spaces for all apps installed, but if the admin doesn’t have access to that app, they won’t be able to view the space after they’ve created it.
A space admin in Jira is someone who has the space-specific Administer Spaces permission, but not necessarily the Administer Jira global permission.
Without the Administer Jira global permission, however, space admins can do the following:
Edit the space name
Edit the space description
Edit the space avatar image
Edit the space URL
Edit the space lead
Edit space role membership
Define space components
Define space versions
View, but not select nor edit the space's schemes (notification scheme, permission scheme, etc)
Changing the category of a Jira space requires Administer Jira global permission.
